Didn’t see that one coming…

Some things that have happened:

  • Dumbledore is gay. Apparently. Was I the only one who didn’t see that coming? I’m still trying to decide whether JK decided this whilst she was writing or just after when she started running out of things to tell the press. Apparently it has made the angry Christians even angrier about the books though and anything that makes them cross makes me happy.
  •  My stomach issues have now reached such irritating proportions that I may remove my entire digestive system with a butter knife.
  • Phantom Hourglass has come out and I don’t own it yet. I will though. Very soon.

I am also loving Stephen Fry’s new blog. It’s nice to read such honest writing from someone so painfully interesting. Perhaps one day I will have that many interesting stories to tell. Minus the manic depression and drug addiction though, I hope.

I still have no idea what I want to do with my life. I have been thinking almost non-stop since my last post and I don’t know! My ideas are as follows:

  • Something to do with food, but probably not a chef.
  • Food writer.
  • Lion tamer.
  • Monkey butler.

Unfortunately, the last two aren’t even real ideas. So I’m a bit stuck because I’m not really that good at writing and I have no idea where I can go to learn about food. Also, if I try to do either of those things I’ll probably give up because I’m a big fat quitter.

Still… Phantom Hourglass should be good.

Who are you working for?!

Jonic told me last night that I have nine subscribers to my blog. Nine! I thought only about 4 people were reading it, so I’m a bit chuffed about that.

I am also interested to know who finds me interesting enough to stick around, so if you don’t mind I’d love a comment or two. Obviously if you wish to remain anonymous I won’t hold it against you; it’s just to satisfy my curiosity.

My ice -cream maker hasn’t arrived yet, but I await it eagerly. I also ordered a Be-Ro cookery book (a British institution, for those who don’t know), which I’m very excited about. It only cost £1.50, which was nice.

Jonic and I watched 6 episodes of 24 last night. We’re on series 5, episode 13 now. Obviously it would be cruel of me to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it, so I won’t. All I will say is that it is absolutely brutal, much more so than any other series. It’s incredible though, as usual.

Something pretty fucking huge happened to me last night as well, which I think is blogworthy (despite being pretty personal, something I’m not too keen on this blog being for fear of alienating those who don’t really know me). I think I’m going to give it a few days to sink in first before blogging about it though. Suffice it to say, after recieving said news I drank quite a lot of vodka and smoked about a million cigarettes.

More on that story later.

I am currently downloading Day of the Tentacle, which I couldn’t be more excited about. I haven’t played it since I was pretty young, I hope my fond memories turn out to be accurate and it’s not actually a big pile of shit.

I’m also compiling a list of video games I have yet to complete/start playing:

  • Twilight Princess (I’m on the last dungeon!)
  • Disgeaea
  • Final Fantasy XII (which I have yet to buy, but am very excited about)
  • Final Fantasy X & X2
  • Kingdom Hearts I & II
  • A lot of Pokemon games for various consoles
  • Golden Sun

I think that’s all of them for now, but I’m going to be pretty busy. I doubt I’ll have time for a job, so I’m going to have to start taking donations. Envelopes of money sent to my house would be much appreciated, as would food parcels and free clothes.

Onwards to mail!

Some things I would like to say to the general MySpace populous:

Prettyful is NOT a word. I don’t see why it is necessary to makeup utterly shit words to replace words which are absolutely fine already. Beautiful and pretty are both perfectly good words, get with the programme.

Text speak is utterly unnecessary and makes you seem utterly thick. No-one, no matter how intelligent can use those sorts of words and sound clever. Although it’s unlikely you’d be using them and have any sort of intelligence in the first place. I like to think there are a few people left who value our language. I think I may be sadly mistaken.

Other things that have been going on today are few and far between. My CV is with Jonic currently being redesigned, so I can’t apply for any jobs and I’m trying to conserve my money by avoiding town. Luckily it does mean I get to watch the Chuckle Brothers. Today they’ve been put in charge of a panda for some unfathomable reason.

Is it just me or are the Chuckle Brothers clearly massive racists? I’m not sure why, it’s just a feeling I get.

I’ve nearly finished Zelda though, which is cause for sadness and celebration in equal measures. I’m excited about seeing the ending, which promises to be epic, but also gutted that I won’t be able to play it any more. I do have a lot of other games to be getting on with though, so it’s not all doom and gloom.

It’s very strange to think that the only two people reading my blog are people who I speak to regularly and know all of these things already. Maybe soon I’ll start writing interesting things and my readership will grow.

Paul Chuckle just told a generation of kids that, when confronted by a lion one must look said lion straight in the eyes. Surely that leaves a lot of children open to lion attacks?

That’s just irresponsible.

Things I am currently enjoying:

  • The fact that no-one wants a stupid PS3. Could it be because they’re so expensive…?
  • Making bread.
  • Leaving university for the second time. (I know I shouldn’t be enjoying it but for some reason I want a job.)
  • Wandering around the house in crop trousers pretending to be some sort of Nigella-esque domestic godess because I made chocolate mousse last night.
  • Having a life plan. Granted, it’s not a very well thought out one, but still.
  • Acting on my dreams. I nearly bought an ice cream maker yesterday.
  • Having whims.
