There are lots of things to find and pick up, like salvaging treasure from the sea bed (which uses the touch screen this time to navigate mines, and is a bit more interesting than in Wind Waker).

You can get different parts for your ship, and certain combinations make your ship a bit more hardy. As far as I can tell there’s nothing like Joy Pendants/Poe souls, but there is something a bit like Wind Waker’s Chu jelly.

They’re gems. Three types for power, wisdom and courage, although I’ve now finished the game and never found out what to do with them. No one ever mentioned them, so I collected them, and then finished the game. Strange.

Re: Hearts: There is space for two rows of eight, and I finished with ten. I don’t know if there are more… You also can’t upgrade your bomb bag/quiver. Quite a bit’s changed now I think about it. It’s still Zelda through and through, and is still excellent, but it still feels a little different.

If you did food writing, would you just write about it, or would you do recipes and that?

Hmmm… I might do that.

They’ve got rid of the heart pieces?! That seems an entirely strange move - does exploring more and spending more time on the game get you anything more than if you just walked through it? I’m very excited about playing it. I shall buy it asap.

I’m still stuck on Okami, I know exactly what I have to do but I just can’t do it. It’s very irritating.

Phantom Hourglass is great, although there are bits that are too easy (the dungeons), and bits that are a little tedious (the central dungeon the must be revisited and played through after every dungeon).

The controls are awesome to. The game no longer explains how to use items and weapons, because the controls are just that intuitive that you just know.

Also, gone are the heart pieces (thank fuck) and the wallet sizes. I’ve got well over 1000 Rupees at the moment.

Okami is coming to the Wii. It’s going to be a direct port, but I reckon using the Celestial Brush should be more fun with the Wiimote

Re: Food writer: Why don’t you give that the old college try on this here blog? Set up a new category for it or something. I’d definitely be interested in reading it x

I actually did get where you were going with the bored stuff. Just don’t know you well enough to offer anything truly insightful or intelligent, and ended up just blathering on with nonsense. Sorry about that.

But I did finally realize that my big hang up with the Elder Wand was Dumbledore’s whole intent being that possession wouldn’t be passed to anyone, and still Malfoy received it. Forgot, however, that saving Harry’s butt in that situation wasn’t part of his plan.

Hmmm…blathering again….

As far as I understand it, Dumbledore got the elder wand because he beat Grindewald in a duel ages ago, then Malfoy disarmed him at the end of book 6 just before Snape killed him. So then when Harry disarmed Malfoy in book 7, even though he didn’t have the elder wand at the time, Harry still became the owner of it. Not entirely sure why…

I’m still reading Lord of the Rings, it’s very good. I just mean bored in a more overall ‘bored with life’ sense.

Hmm… that wasn’t meant to sound that depressing!

Not that it’s the resounding response you’re looking for, but I’m still here. Let’s see, I think I heard that you’re all caught up on 24. You could explain the whole possession sequence of the Elder Wand to me (I heard you’re an expert), and that should take all of about 30 seconds. Peace Corps? Backpack around the US? Did the Lord of the Rings reading not work out?

That is perhaps the best thing that anyone has ever suggested. I’m all for helicopter explosions in out of place situations… Like that time I suggested that Amelie could have used a couple.

Also, the font here has gone weird. I’m investigating now. Oh yeah, and you’ve got about 50 themes to choose from now, so you can pick something a little more to your liking if you so desire…
